| This is a beautiful piece of the Miles meteorite. This meteorite was found in Queensland, Australia in 1992. A single large mass of over 265 kilograms was found in a pasture.
This meteorite is a silicated-iron meteorite, (IIE). The IIE irons are quite rare, only a few in existence and Miles is anomalous, being unlike any other meteorite. This specimen weighs 6.07 grams and is a beautiful partslice showing both metal and silicate sections. It is sealed in a plastic display box filled with dessicant beads to prevent oxidation. This is a nice specimen for any collection. The cube in the photo measures 1 cm. It is for measurement purposes only and not included in the auction. I am a meteorite dealer and fully gaurantee the authenticity of every meteorite and tektite specimen I sell. Be sure to see me in the March 1999 issue of the Smithsonian Magazine, I am featured in an article about meteorite hunters! I am also featured in Fortune Small Business magazine.
