Rare Antique Mixed Metal Gorham Co. Kerosene Lamp c.1880 Y98 P

 

This auction is for an Rare American Artistic Japanese Style Kerosene Lamp (Mark of Gorham, Providence, Rhode Island, c.1880)

 

 A rare mixed metal, large size kerosene lamp by Gorham, the original red copper finish intact, the body entirely hand hammered with applied silver flower, foliage, dung beetle and bird, never electrified, the original kerosene tank intact, the wick and mechanism fully functional complete, marked underside reads “GORHAM CO Y98 P” with Gorham’s Monogram Anchor dating back to early 1880’s.  Lamp has and overall height of 18.5” including Globe/Chimney and is 10.25” in height (base to wick). 

 

Normal signs of wear as appropriate with age.  Shows Excellent Patina.
