This is a beautiful, rare chubby faced antique Kestner 161 doll. This is a rare mold that is not easily found. She measures approximately 21 inches tall.
This antique German bisque child doll is incised: F 1/2 made in Germany 10 1/2 161
Her expressive face features heavy multistroked eyerows, long painted upper and lower eyelashes, blue sleep glass almond-shaped eyes, open mouth with generous lips with shading strokes, 4 upper teeth and a vintage blond mohair wig with bow.
She is wearing a spectacular cotton dress with lace and blue floral motif. It is very old and appears to have been made in the late 1800's Victorian era. It closes in the back with buttons and hooks. It fits her with the exception that it doesn't close all the way near her back/waist. I guess she is a chunky gal, lol.
She is also wearing antique cotton pantalettes, antique socks, replaced shoes, and has an antique bar pin/brooch with rhinestones.
She has a fully jointed composition body in good condition with normal wear expected with age. The arms or hands may have been repainted at one time.
Her bisque head has a hairline on her forehead as shown in pictures. It is covered by her wig and can only be seen when it is removed. Her right eye has a very faint surface scratch and her eyelid wax is worn from age.
Because of the hairline, this will be a final sale. She displays beautifully and is ready to display.
I do not smoke, but do not know how many smoking homes these antique / vintage items have been in for all these years. I do have 2 dogs, but all my items for sale are kept behind glass or away from my pets.
