From 1967! This is the rare, genuine article! It is an ORIGINAL Peter Max poster, not a reproduction! Peter Max helped to define the pop art movement of the 1960's and the subject of this poster is British recording legend Donovan Leitch, who helped define the music of the late 60's. "Donovan" as he is known, was among the first musicians to adopt the "flower power" movement with hits songs that included his psychodelic "Sunshine Superman" and "Mellow Yellow." He's also been credited with helping The Beatles write their "Yellow Submarine" song. How appropriate that this poster depicts Donovan in all of his psychodelic, flower power glory! It has been in storage and remains in perfect condition after more than 40 years! To verify authenticity, the poster has been stamped with the production series number "52" and with the year of if it's creation "1967" in the lower left hand corner. Please see photo #5. This is proof that the poster is a Max original. Measures 24" x 36". Ships in a plastic or PVC tube for protection with insurance & delivery confirmation included in the flat rate shipping costs. Please feel free to email any questions. |
