A PHENOMENAL DECORATOR ITEM!!

Helen Siegl born in 1924, was a renown Printmaker and illustrator working in woodcuts, lithographs & etchings and monotype. She studied in her native Austria under Oswald Haetel. She became a U.S. citizen in 1959. She was the mother of eight children. As a printmaker, Siegl was well known for her innovative techniques, often combining wood blocks, linoleum block and even plaster blocks within the same work of art. Siegl's original woodcuts are now included in the permanent collections of such major galleries as The Philadelphia Museum of Fine Art, the New York Public Library and the Library of Congress, Washington, DC.
I bought this artwork an estate sale in Western NY several years ago. It sure is a fab retro work of art. It is signed, and titled and numbered "10" in pencil. There were some real class 1950's and 1960's items including art in this house. There were some great period artists. It is matted in a burlap type mat. The art is on a thin paper that is adhered to a board. I think I originally had the frame for this but must have misplaced it when I took the piece apart to see if there was any information on the back.

The artwork is in VERY GOOD condition. It is adhered to a paper board. The burlap matting is fraying a little around the edges. The size is about 16" x 13". The actual area of the wood cut is about 12" x 9".
