3. Identification: I purchased this interesting dug musket ball from a local dealer who acquired an old collection of Iroquois material around Rochester, NY. The ball was said to be dug from a trash mound in the 1950's..
4. Other Information:The Devall - Beal village site was in East Bloomfield, New York and was occupied from 1670-1687. The site was a captive site of Gandougarae and the Jesuit Mission site of St. Michael. The Seneca's moved to this site after a fire accidentally destroyed their former village known as Cherry Street Site. The French destroyed the village in 1687. The musket ball comes in a black riker mount display case with history. I'm guessing the ball is 50 cal. in size. The riker mount case measures 3 1/4" x 4 1/4".
