| This is a piece of the very rare NWA 801 meteorite. This meteorite was found just outside the town of Zagora Morocco in 2000. Since then, over 100 small stones have been found, with a total known weight of only about 5 or 6 kilograms.
This meteorite is a very rare type, a Carbonaceous chondrite (CR2). These are recognized by their high-metal content and often the large choundrules are "armored", meaning surrounded by a ring of iron. This specimen weighs 0.183 gram and is an partslice. This piece is gorgeous, beautiful metal flecks. The cube in the photo measures 1 cm. It is for measurement purposes only and not included in the auction. I am a meteorite dealer and fully gaurantee the authenticity of every meteorite and tektite specimen I sell. Be sure to see me in the March 1999 issue of the Smithsonian Magazine, I am featured in an article about meteorite hunters! I am also featured in Fortune Small Business magazine.
