These straps were designed by Joey Tafolla founder of the Rebel Company and former guitarist
with 3 solo recordings to his credit. “I have worn a guitar strap for over 30 years,” explains Tafolla,
“and never gave too much thought to the way that it rests on your body, or the ergonomic value of a
quality strap. When I created JTM, we were an OEM manufacturer of music accessories and
continued in that vein for eight years—with clients ranging from Fender, M-Audio and Zildjian,
before we considered creating original products. In the 20 years I’ve been involved in the MI
business, I have seen many things change but the one thing that has remained constant year after
year was the guitar strap. It’s never gone away. That’s when we decided to create Rebel Strap Co.,
to incorporate ideas and concepts of our pop and skate culture here in Southern California, and to
create a wide array of straps that push the envelope in terms of design, imagery, comfort, concept
and functionality.”
