These organic seeds are from my 2009 planting. I grow all my poppys so the seeds are true. They are not bought and then resold like most sellers. Thats why I can sell at a low price and top quality. Also if you need more than one packet of seeds just let me know
Most poppies are very easy to grow. They are a favorite of gardeners for rock gardens, flower beds, containers, and most anyplace that you want color. Start planting in mid March Thru May or in the Fall, September thru November. The flower is a Red Peony. Very beautiful. . These are truely one of the prettiest of all (papaver somniferum) poppy's. Plus with each plant that matures you will get back 1,000 of seeds. You'll never have tyo buy this kind again. Plant your seeds in the fall or early spring. They will germinate in 5-14 days. I will ship multiple packets for the one shipping cost.
How to grow Poppies
Prepare the ground properly. Till up the area you want to plant poppies in. It is a good idea to add some kind of organic fertilizer to the soil. Cow manure is best and lime if you need it. There are two times of the year that are best for planting poppy seeds. The Spring and Fall. Poppies are a very hardy plant and they like the cold. So plant your seeds just after you think the last snow has fallen. Once your seedling gets 4 to 6 leafs on them start thinning them out to about 6 inches apart. They need the room to grow. I prefer to cut the unwanted seedlings out instead of pulling them so not to disturb the other poppies root If you didn't use Cow manure, Alaskan fish fertilizer or any other organic fertilizer in the beginning You can use a liquid fertilizer after they reach about 6 inches tall. Too much will burn them so start out with a diluted solution and see how that effects your plants Fertilize and water on a regular basis until you see the seed pods start to form. For the Fall planting, plant your seeds in the middle of Octoberber and prepare the soil as I have indicated above. Poppies are very hardy, they should winter over just fine and bloom earlier in the Spring. However just in case, save about half your seeds for the Spring planting. |
