"Commercial Grade" Reflective Glass Beads.

These are similar to the small glass spheres found in reflective spray paints.

( mil spec. size 13, 170 - 400 mesh, 0.037 - 0.088 mm ).

The size of these loose beads resembles a fine powder. "Commercial Grade"

beads can be intermixed at the rate of 7-8 lbs per gallon, or applied topically

into clear transparent paints, glues, adhesives, etc.

Apply to your craft projects, homemade signs, bicycle fenders for safety at

night. Let your imagination wander and apply these to a lot of your personal

possesions. Also these are good for Fishing Lures and Decals.

"High-Way Road Sign Grade" Reflective Glass Beads

These beads resemble loose sand, and have a Good consistent retro-reflective

performance, with a refractive index of 1.51, and a roundness 70%.

( Type1T - 01, mil spec size 4, 30 - 50 mesh, 0.30 - 0.59 mm ).

These can be intermixed into clear coatings, transparent or translucent, glues

and adhesives, or paints at the rate of 5 lbs per gallon or applied topically to wet

paint at the rate of 6 lbs to the gallon.

Your states Hi-Way Department uses this size beads for Signs and Roadway's.

Of the 3 sizes we have for your choice, most crafters projects include this

size of beads.

"Airport Grade" Reflective Glass Beads

State of the art Reflective Micro-Spheres with a refractive index over 1.51, and a

roundness up to 95%, with less than 1% air inclusions for increased clarity and
retro-reflection, and resemble #8-9 buckshot..

( Mil spec size 1, 12 - 20 mesh, 0.84 - 1.68 mm ).

This size beads are mainly applied topically to wet paint at the rate of 7 lbs per

gallon for the best results, but also can be inter-mixed with other coatings also.

Other ways for applying Reflective Glass Beads.

For the best results, use the beads inter-mixed into clear coatings, transparent or

translucent, glues and adhesives at the above rates per choice of beads.

Clean and dry, mask off area to be painted or coated. Its advisable to peel off the

masking between coats before the coating is dry. This is to prevent what is refered

to "paint pulling".

When inter-mixed, make sure the coating you use is well stirred to ensure even

glass bead dispersion thru-out the mixture.

Apply in thin coats, otherwise the paint may dry translucent or cloudy. Let dry,

approx. 30 minutes (depending on conditions) remember to remove the masking

prior to complete drying, and apply asecond masking. Apply the second coat, after

restirring the paint or coating. If you have extra glass beads, and before the final

second coat dries you can sprinkle them topically onto the final coating.

Some applications (ex. letters) may require 3 coats for satisfactory results.

Reflective Glass Beads reflect a white light, on a white background using a clear

paint. When using on another colored background they will show some distortion

of the background color which is unavoidable, with darker colors being the worst.
