The WSO (ADA) brevet is worn by: A. Officers who have successfully completed the Basic Weapon phases of the Air Defence Artillery Officers' Course. B. CL I Specialists who have successfully completed the ADSS CL I Upgrading Course. The Coat-of-Arm at the top of the brevet signifies the Republic of Singapore, the nation that we will uphold with honour and protect with our lives. The "RSAF" wording represents the Republic of Singapore Air Force showing that ADSD is part of a bigger and stronger force. The guns not only trace the historical link with our earlier ADA weapon systems but remain as a vital part of the Air Defence System. The sharp pointed missile is a representation of the state-of-the-art technology employed in ADA systems. It also symbolised our single-mindedness and determination in protecting our Air Space. The radar signifies the all rounded defence posture and reflects the potent use of radar in the command and control of our gun and missile systems. The pair of laurel is the universal sign for pride and is painted green (for No. 1 and No. 2 dress only) to symbolise our commitment in support of Army.
