BUDDY EBSEN. Buddy Ebsen is perhaps best-known in modern times for his role as Jed Clampett in the hit TV series The Beverly Hillbillies. Also as roles as Davy Crockett's sidekick George Russell, and as Barnaby Jones, the famous detective.
However, what you may know about Buddy Ebsen is only the tip of the ice-berg, so to speak. Besides being an accomplished actor, he was also a play writer, composer, artist, catamaran builder and navigator, humanist involved in many significant causes, poet, philosopher, American Civil War expert, historian, designer, and explorer.
