This marked Rookwood vellum lamp is 16" tall overall. The pottery portion is 12" tall. The decoration is lavender wisteria and green leaves against a yellow background. Crazing is broad and a little dark. The Rookwood logo and the 1921 date are intact but the artist's signature has been obliterated by the crude drill hole. The artwork looks a lot like Lenore Asbury's work, but it could as easily have been done by Coyne, Diers, or Rothenbush. NOTE: On the lip, invisible beneath the metal cap, is a definite grinding chip. Perhaps there was a factory flaw on the lip and rather than discard of the vase, it was made into a lampIt is guaranteed to have no chips, no cracks, and no repairs.
