Rooney Square - Line decision tool for bowls - the best

This is mainly intended for shortmat bowls, but it can be used in other forms of bowls where an exact line decision is required.

You place the square exactly on the line with the hinge roughly in line with the centre of the bowl or jack you are judging. Then raise one wing of the square to the vertical and this device comes into its own. It successfully transfers the horizontal line to a vertical plane that allows you to make the line decision with total confidence. According to many short mat umpires, this is, without question, the best tool for making line decisions.
