It is my privilege to present for consideration is a large and prestigious Doulton Coaching Days Bone China Vase (shape 1245) with a pair of delta wing handles. In the Royal Doulton Coaching Days fact file on my web site - Nicholnack art in pottery – I list the 24 scenes from this series. This is scene 8: “Family waving farewell”. This very popular series was designed by Victor Venner, it was introduced in 1905, the range was extended until 1929 and it was withdrawn by 1955.

Impressed into the base is the shape code 1245. It bears the green stamped under glaze makers’ mark of the style that was in use from 1932 until 1942. Hand written on the base in red ink is the pattern number E3404.

  • Dimensions

This glorious vase measures 12.5 cm (5”) across the handles and it strides in at an impressive 20.5 cm (8”) tall. It has a diameter of 20 cm (8”).

  • Condition

It is in EXCELLENT condition; with NO chips, cracks or repairs and NO crazing or wear to the motif. This has obviously enjoyed the sheltered existence of a cabinet dweller.

 

I just love this very impressive motif. It is popular world-wide, it always sells. This is a very large and impressive vase, note this vase is not just earthen ware; it is first quality bone china.
