On offer here is a magical Royal Doulton Country Garden series serving bowl from a Stafford Dessert set. On page 76 of volume 2 of Royal Doulton Series Ware; Louise Irvine lists the 7 scenes that make up this series. She describes this as scene 2 “Milkmaid with stool and bucket”. The Country Garden series was introduced in 1929. This piece has the black stamped under glaze maker’s mark that was in use from very early in 1932 until 1942. Hand painted in black ink is the pattern number “D.5427”. Impressed into the base is the date code 12-33: December 1933.

  • Dimensions

It measures in with a diameter of 24 cm (9.5”) and it is 7 cm (2.75”) deep.

  • Condition

It is in EXCELLENT condition; with no chips, cracks, stains or repair and NO crazing. There is one tiny scratch to the green rim strip – nothing at all really This has obviously lived most of its 75 years in the shelter existance of a display cabinet.
