On offer here is a simply PRISTINE Royal Doulton Country Garden Cake Tray. This series was introduced 1929; it has three pattern numbers set against it, this is pattern number D.4932.

Attached to me Nicholnack Art In Pottery I have created a Country Garden fact file where I show the nine different which are unique to this series. This is scene 8: “Young Woman Gathering Flowers”. This piece has the black stamped under glaze maker’s mark of the style that was intorduced in 1932. Impressed into the base is the date code 7 – 32; July 1932.

  • Dimensions

It measures 25 cm (9.87”) at its broadest across the handles and it is 19 cm (7.5”) wide and it is 3.7 cm (1.5”) deep.

 

  • Condition

It is in AS NEW condition; there are no chips cracks, repairs or stains and NO crazing. This is exactly as it was when it came out of the factory when out of Royal Doulton Burslem factory nigh on 80 years ago. It has obviously only ever known the easy life of a cabinet dweller.
