Presented here for consideration is a magical Royal Doulton Dickens characters in appropriate settings series Conserve Dish. The dish Fagan from the Oliver Twist novel. This delightful wee dish bears C.J. Noke’s signature.

The Dickens Ware serries was first introduced in 1908, modified in 1912, 1917 and 1931. In 1951 a new pattern number was introduced D.6327, but production was reduced to a trickle of three or four shapes, by the late 1950’s it was stoped altogether. In 1932 the series was reintroduced with a limited number of characters which portrayed in a brighter colour scheme.

This piece dates from this second period of production. It has the black stamped makers’ mark that was in use from 1932 until 1951. It has the impressed date code 6-32; June 1932. The shape number 8015B is impressed into the base.

  • Dimensions

This wee stunner measures 14 cm (5.5”) diagonally across the top and it is 3 cm (1.25”) deep.

  • Condition

It is in EXCELLENT condition; with no chips, cracks, stains or repairs. As is most often the way with production of this style and vintage it does exhibit some crazing – nothing hideous mind – just enough to impart a delightful antique patina.
