Sugar Bowl with Lid & Creamer

Offered for auction: A lovely large 12-ounce creamer and matching sugar bowl with in the "Sandsprite" pattern from Royal Doulton China, described at replacements.com (item 80581) as "Lambethware, blue bands," 1972-1988.

This Doulton creamer measures 4.25 inches high and 3.25 inches wide at the foot. The creamer is in excellent condition, with rich trim and nicely defined designs.

The sugar bowl measures 3.25 inches high (without the lid), and 4 inches wide across the foot. There is a very shallow 1/4-inch chip or flake on the inside rim of the sugar bowl lid (my camera couldn't get a photo; you can barely see if on one of the photos above, if you enlarge and look at 5:00, next to the white of the camera flash); there are no other flaws I can find on the sugar bowl or lid.

Both pieces have a detailed stamp under the glaze that reads: "Lambethware / Royal Doulton / Sandsprite / L.S. 1013 / Made in England" (photo at right).
