Presented for consideration is a Royal Doulton Miniature Vase (shape 7019) decorated with the Ploughing series. The Ploughing series was introduced in 1915, it was added to in 1929 and it had been withdrawn from production by 1948. Attached to my Nicholnack art in pottery website I have collection of Fact-files regarding Royal Doulton Series Ware, along with Fact-files dedicated to Doulton Shapes I have a created a Ploughing Fact-file. In this fact file I identify 8 scenes unique to this series.

.  I list the 8 different scenes belonging to this series.

This scene 7 "Ploughman bent over plough, back view side angle". It has the black stamped maker’s mark of the style that was in use from 1932 until 1942. The shape number 7015 is impressed into the base.

  • Dimensions

This delightful miniature vase stands a proud 6 cm (2.25”) tall and it measures 6 cm (2.25”) diagonally across at its broadest.

  • Condition   
It is in EXCELLENT condition; with NO chips, cracks, stains or repairs and NO crazing. There are some small black spots soot in the glaze, mainly on the inside of the vase – this is from the time of production – a stacker must brushed the inside of the kiln why it was being loaded ant the soot fell on to the vase just before it was fired (see photo below).

Ploughing is a popular series, it is hard to come bay and it always sells relatively quickly. Don’t miss out on this delightful vase.
