Presented here for consideration is a Royal Doulton Roger De Cloverlly Bud Vase; shape 7018. This popular series is based on a character created by Thomas Steele for The Spectator, a literary magazine which was first published in 1712. Sir Roger was depicted as the perfect country gentle man.

This delightful series was intorduced in 1911, changes where made to the range in 1930 and 1937 and it had been withdrawn by 1949. It bears the black stamped under glaze makers’ mark of the style that was in use from 1932 until 1942. It also has a special maroon Sir Roger De Coverley back-stamp. .

  • Dimensions

This wee beauty stands 6.4 cm (2.4") tall and it measures 7 cm (2.75”) diagonally across at its broadest.

  • Condition

It is in EXCELLENT condition; with no chips, cracks or repairs. As is most often the way with production of this style and vintage it does exhibit some crazing.

Sir Roger de Cloverley is a very popular series and these minature vases are very collectable. This is the first example of this scene that I have ever had.
