 Description Shipping and payments

Presented here for consideration is a Royal Doulton Wild Rose Vase done on the magnificent mottled blue colour-way. The Rose “G”, or Wild Roses as it is also known, was introduced in 1940 and it had been withdrawn by 1951.

This vase is shape 8125; for the full story on Royal Doulton’s Wild Rose series, including pictures of all the shapes and dating information, see the Wild Rose Fact File I have attached to my Nicholnack art in pottery web site.

Printed by hand in black ink is the pattern number “D.6227”. It bears the green stamped under glaze maker’s mark of the style that was in use from 1942 until 1952. This magical vase was manufactured in 1951, I can tell this for sure by the small 24 just to the left of the crown in the maker’s mark.

  • Dimensions

It stands a proud 18.2 cm (7.12”) tall and it has a mouth diameter of 13.5 cm (5.4”).

  • Condition

It is in EXCELLENT condition; with no chips, cracks or repairs. As is so often the case with production of this vintage and style it does exhibit some crazing, this is restricted to the inside an to the whte base.

Wild Rose is a striking pattern and this back-ground colour in my opinion is the best that Doulton ever put floral their patterns on to. I never seem to be able to find enough of this particular pattern. Hit the BUY IT NOW tab and make sure that you don’t miss out on this beauty.
