Stunning 1920s Royal Winton Grimwades Chintz Covered Butter Dish, "Standon" pattern
This butter dish is a lovely light green color. The center is darker and gets lighter towards the edges. The edges have reddish orange and yellow tulips and branches, as well as a lakeside cabin. The tulips have been hand decorated! It's absolutely gorgeous!
The back has the Royal Winton mark and the pattern "Standon," as well as a hand painted mark that looks like a V; the inside of the lid has an 11 painted on it. The artist who decorated the plate did this.
There is some overall crazing and some sticker goo on the bottom. I've shown all this in the pics.
Bottom measures 5 1/2" square, and the lid measures 3 3/4" square. As a whole, it stands approximately 2 1/2" tall.
I really hate to sell this! It's been in my china cabinet for some time and I just adore it, but we've got a new baby and haven't been working as much. So I offer it to you. ***Watch my other auctions for more Royal Winton Chintz, as I'm parting with what little I have been hoarding!***
