Beautiful rustic "Amish" style beech timber with amazing "adz" character, hand work (chiseled notches and knots) and color that can only be found in very old recycled barn timbers used as joists, such as this one. It has been hand hewn, smooth sanded, finished on all 4 sides and it has 2 live edges. It weighs approximately 103 pounds.

Our mill is on the historic site of Cal-Ida lumber company which produced millions of board feet of sugar pine and moulded products for the California fruit growers association, which made box shook for shipment on the railroad all over the world. The mill now salvages and reuses recycled lumber to make flooring, moulding and slab wood products. Our site is located on HWY 49 (the Grass Valley Highway) that is the center of the golden chain, where millions of dollars worth of gold were discovered between 1850 and is still found by modern day prospectors in the beautiful local rolling foothills of the Sierra Nevada from Auburn to Nevada City, California.
