This is a 17 foot 6 inch, six-seater model, built in mahogany, powered with a 40 hp Lycoming engine, is capable of a speed of 26 miles per hour. It sells in this country i.e., Great Britain, to the public at the very low price of $1,368, from which price the dealers receive a substantial discount. Now this would appear to be a very good export proposition, but I have found from experience that it is not. When I send a boat abroad, there is nothing to prevent the importer having it copied, obtaining the Lycoming motor direct from the factory, and selling a similar model........."
