Up for auction straight out of my personal collection is this mints S-388 "FLORETTE" miniature oil lamp. This lamp and has been authenticated is referenced in Ruth Smith's Miniature Oil Lamps # 1, figure number 388. This is a scarce rated lamp and very hard to find; and carries a price in the price book of $595. The base is in mint condition. The lamp overall is a real show piece, but does have a few issues, the first being a manufacturing flaw created in manufacturing. It occurred in the shade, there is a discoloration which is round (see Picture 6). The blemish does not in any way effect the shade's integrity as it is only a blemish. The other issue is in the top of the shade. the whole top of the shade is thick, even where there is a sliver chip missing (not easily seen even when looking for it) please see pictures .lamp has an quality period burner that works perfectly, the thumb wheel has triangles around the outside and does have a working wick. The height itself stands at 7" to the top of the shade.   THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONALLY BEAUTIFUL LAMP AND THE BUYER WILL NOT BE SORRY AS THE ISSUES CREATE AN OPPERTUNITY TO OWN A FABULOIS LAMP FOR A FRACTION OF A NORMAL PRICE.
