You are bidding on an extremely lightly formerly enjoyed S. Bang, "D" grade bent "Horn/Oliphant"shaped pipe that was hand carved by  Per Hansen, in Copenhagen, Denmark. This contemporary "Kobenhavn" stamped pipe is also stamped with Per Hansen's maker marking. The Grade D is extremly high of a grade of an S. Bang pipe.

This pipe is wonderfully shaped, and carved. The straight grain that flows across the good sized bowl is spectacularly gorgeous. The dense, swirling bird's eye grain that full covers the front panel/bottom shank of the pipe, as well as on the back panel of the bowl is textbook perfect and is simply astonishing in its appearance!!! The bowl's finish is magnificent! The wood simply glows! The engineering is perfect. Perfect balance (The low center of gravity will allow this pipe to be comfortably held in the mouth.), comfortable hand feel, and easy draft. A pipe cleaner will pass to the bottom of the bowl. The stem is beautifully cut and will be comfortable in the mouth. I think that the best stems in the world are located on the end of S. Bang pipes! This pipe is a true high-grade work of art. This is not just another pipe to use but also work of briar sculpture to be admired even when just sitting in the pipe rack.

This pipe required virtually nothing at all - superficial cleaning and sanitization. It was in fantastic condition when I received it. The original hand cut German vulcanite stem (The highest quality vulcanite in the world!) is free of any tooth marks, scratches, or oxidation. The entire pipe is clean, crisp, and shines like glass. This gorgeous pipe is truly ready to immediately enjoy right out of the box. The leather pipe bag that is pictured below is included.

Here are the dimensions of this GOOD-SIZED perfectly engineered high grade hand crafted pipe: The overall length is about 7.00”. The bowl height is about 3.0”. The tobacco chamber is about 0.825” in diameter and tapers down the bowl’s capacious 2.50” inner depth. Tobacco capacity is about that of a Group ODA PLUS size Dunhill pipe. It weighs 101 grams.

The pipes that I ship have too much time and labor lavished on their restoration and presentations as well as the many of these pipes are irreplaceable works of art. I am not going to risk damage by using lesser packing. (In my nine years of selling pipes on eBay and shipping thousands of pipes around the world, not a single pipe has been damaged!) I also try my utmost to ship your pipe the same day that I receive your payment, even if this means making a special trip to the Post Office just for you alone. The Registered parcels that ship overseas take extensive time with both the packaging and four forms of documentation that must be filled out. Unfortunately, this all has to be reflected in my shipping costs, so please bid accordingly.
