Vol. 1 No. 1, San Juan Guide, Topeka Kansas, June 1876 Newspaper,  8-pages, Excellent condition.
Comes with original handbill  . Newspaper was used as a promotional by  the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad ,  great illustrated masthead with early train, covered wagon, wreckage of wagon with skeletons of horses and mountains in background. The front page has several articles on both gold and silver mining in San Juan, central section has great map entitled Map, Showing Only Direct Route To San Juan Mines, Via Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad, marked George Martin printer, Kansas Publishing House, Topeka, A fine promotional tabloid issued by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad to attract passengers for the San Juan mining district of Colorado.
Very Rare and in excellent condition. Auction recaord show last selling at just under $ 10,000 , with light damage. This paper is what I would consider excellent or very close to excelent for its age. Only normal light wear and original center fold, no tears or marks. If you would like to view the item in person prior to purchase, let me know an we will do our best to make arrangements.  I do not have te paper with me here in SC. It is in Washington D.C. . My friend owwns it and will be responsible for shipping or pick up.
