A fascinating and detailed chart of San Juan, Puerto Rico, West Indies. The coastal detail includes rocks, shoals, soundings, etc. The interior is charted with fortifications, rivers and roads including Castillo de la Perla, Fort Sn.Antonio, Castillo del Morro, El Canualo etc.
Very scarce.
Thomas Jefferys (c1719 -1771) was an important English cartographer and geographer to The Prince of Wales and King George III. His most important works are considered to be his maps of North America and the West Indies.
Some very light toning, otherwise fine condition, faint centre fold, blank verso.
