Mobile develops thinking skills by providing baby with a variety of visual activities that range from simple to complex as baby matures. At 0-3 months, baby can focus on objects approximately 12” away. Newborns are drawn to simple, high contrast images and will learn from seeing a variety of colors and patterns. Baby will also delight in seeing her face in the mirror. At 3+ months, baby’s vision is almost fully developed. Colorful, high contrast images with different shapes and sizes will capture baby’s attention.
Play Tips

Attach the Back Seat Travel Mobile to the back seat of the automobile so that baby can see it from her rear-facing infant car seat. Baby loves faces, so make sure the bright eyes and smiles of the animals are facing baby.

When baby is a newborn, attach the bar to the mirrored side of the mobile. Baby’s vision is not completely developed, but baby will be attracted to the simple image and high contrast colors.

Remove the animals from the mobile and attach them to the handle of the infant carrier. Show baby how to pull the animal down and watch it bounce away. This teaches baby a lesson in cause and effect.
