Basic Information about VCD’s:

A VCD (Video Compact Disc) is a digital movie in MPEG-1 format. The picture/video quality is identical with that of a VHS. Compared to DVDs, VCD's have a lower resolution at 352x240 (NTSC) or 352x288 (PAL).

The decisive advantage of VCD’s over DVD’s is, that they don’t have regional restrictions, which means you can play a VCD anywhere on practically all devices. Almost all DVD players can play VCD’s. Please check the manual of your player or use the following link to see if your DVD player is compatible:

You can also play VCD’s on computers with a CD-Rom drive and an installed player like for example Windows Media Player, Real Player or Winamp.

A VCD can accommodate about 70 minutes of video, so for most movies, you will receive a set of two discs.
