THIS IS A JEWEL OF MY HAIR LOTS AND "OH SO RARE".

Secretariat (March 30, 1970 – October 4, 1989) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse, who in 1973 became the first U.S. Triple Crown champion in twenty-five years, setting new race records in two of the three events in the Series - the Kentucky Derby (1:59 2/5), and the Belmont Stakes (2:24) - records that still stand today.

Secretariat was the son of Bold Ruler (a grandson of Nearco) out of Somethingroyal. He was born at Meadow Farm in Caroline County, Virginia. Like the equally famous horse Man o' War, Secretariat was a large chestnut colt and was given the same nickname, "Big Red."

This hair is protected in ornate 24 Karat gold gilded double frames.  The entire ensemble is protected in a cear glassene sleeve that is often used as a frame.

ACTUAL SIZE OF THE OUTER EDGE OF OUTSIDE GILDED GOLD FRAME IS 1-3/4" X 1-3/8" inches. The inner frame's outside exterior width dimension is 3/8ths+ of an inch. There is a very limited supply of this most precious hair. Hair is approximately about 1/16th of an inch in length and very visible. Both frames together are mounted on exhibition sheet 8 1/2 X 11" inches.
