My preschooler loves cooking and Sesame Street. So this author was clever in combining these two passions together in a colorful and engaging book. My child is eager to cook some of the recipes. For starters, the recipes highlight what the child could do to help prepare the meal. In some recipes, the chore is only one step which may upset the eager pre-schooler. That is where a creative parent can incorporate other helpful steps to not discourage the child. It would be great if the recipes included nutritional information. If you have a picky eater, these recipes may encourage them to try new things.
My son(age 5) wanted this book while visiting Sesame Place. The gift Shop had it for sale for $17.99. I knew I could get it cheaper on ebay and I did. We love picking out recipes that we can prepare as a family. Even my 2 1/2 year old daughter loves looking through the book!
This is even better than I had hoped for. It is filled with healthy recipes and ideas, as well as colorful pictures of the Sesame Street characters. Everyone found recipes in it that they were interested in at Christmas. A very good choice.
I purchased this book to help me plan meals with and for my son. He's too young at the moment to cook with me and once I finish introducing eggs and peanut butter, we'll be making meals all the time! I like it because the ingredients are simple and the prep time short-easy!
A really fun little book, my little boy has just started taking an interest in making his own snacks so that's why I bought this. Easy instructions and nice meals etc.
