Minted from 1795 to 1907, these classic U.S. gold eagles are one of the very best gold portfolio builders on the market. This set of a $10 Liberty Gold Eagle and $5 Liberty Gold Half Eagle is a terrific invest. Both of these gold rarities are premium specimens both graded MS64 by PCGS. They have a low population, and tremendous upside potential.
The $10 Gold Liberty is a supreme example of the 1893 Philadelphia mintage. This near-Gem specimen exhibits vibrant luster and minimally marked fields. This choice example is crisply struck with slight fiery-orange toning that accents the straw-yellow golden undertone.
The $5 Gold Liberty is an excellent example of it's mintage. The devices are very well defined, the fields are pristine and it has a radiant original mint luster!! Overall this is a beautiful Gold Coin.
After more then a hundred years, the majority of the original 1893 mintages for both of these denominations have been lost to circulation or melted down in the 1930's.
Today, only a tiny fraction of the original mintages have received grades of MS64 or higher.
In fact, PCGS has certified only 185 of these 1893 $10 Liberties in MS64 designation.
ONLY 2 have ever been graded higher both in the MS65 designation.
AND:
PCGS has certified only 136 of these 1893 $5 Liberties in MS64 designation.
ONLY 26 have ever been graded higher then this one.
PCGS.com lists a COMBINED value for the 1893 $10 & $5 Liberty Gold coins graded MS64 as: $5,900.00
compare this amount with:
The current PCGS.com listed COMBINED value for the next highest grade of MS65 at $24,400.00.
When compared side by side with the next grade, it is easy to see the many advantages to adding an MS64 to your holdings. These near gems would fit perfectly in a rare Gold type set.
With the current market for rare gold coins, collectors are rapidly acquiring gold coins for their holdings.
