This is a SUPERIOR example of a rare Seth Thomas IRON Mantle Clock in wonderful 100% ALL ORIGINAL condition.

This is truly a great clock. I DON’T THINK WE’VE EVER SEEN a Seth Thomas Iron clock before. It is not sheet metal – but heavy solid iron. This clock will not fall apart! Other companies made iron clocks but Seth Thomas did not, but here one is! It is a very classy mantle clock in need of a warm loving home. It was made in 1894. It has a signed HEAVY DUTY "Seth Thomas Clock Co" 8-day time and strike movement which chimes on the half hour and strikes the hour with a mellow, beautiful sound on a cathedral gong – it resonates for about 10 seconds. It is a very strong runner! The movement runs very well and keeps good time.

The movement was just cleaned, oiled, pivots polished and bushings added where needed.

This clock will not need servicing for many years to come, and is ready for the next 100 years! This is a labor intensive service, with many clockmakers charging 250.00 and up. We recommend having it oiled every 2 to 3 years to keep it in tip-top shape! With the purchase of this clock for an additional $ 2.25 we will include an oiler kit with a professional oiler loaded with enough oil to oil approximately 50 clocks with easy instructions so you could even do it yourself! The Seth Thomas Clock Company was started in 1820 and has been known for making high quality clocks. With this clock being no exception.

The case is also very beautiful and near perfect with its beautiful ORIGINAL finish!

I doubt if the clock has been worked on much as the screws and screw holes for the movement are tight, with no additional screw holes. The signed dial is in superior condition. Someone has taken very good care of this clock! It has an adjustment for fast and slow on the dial which can be turned by the small end of the large Seth Thomas key, this way you don’t need to take the clock down from its shelf to adjust it for slow and fast. The metal around the dial (solid brass) is original and is beautiful (no extra screw holes – no dents etc.). The hands are original (see picture). The back door is perfect with the large “ST”. The movement is signed (see picture). Complete with the adjustable pendulum! And a Seth Thomas double ended key – one end for winding the clock and one end for adjusting the time for slow and fast. This clock runs really great! The clock measures 10 ½ inches high, 6 inches deep and 14 inches wide. These antique clocks amaze me - could you imagine any other consumer product still working nearly 90 years! And the truly amazing thing with proper care they will work easily past the next 100 years, with this clock going well beyond that! If you are looking for an antique clock that looks like it was cherished its whole life, and is very high quality – this is it!

Antique Clocks are a Fine Investment.

Each one has a unique quality, as well as appreciating in value and beauty with age. You will become attached to your antique clocks and they will become a meaningful and important part of your life adding untold joy each day you own them. They can be handed down from one generation to another as they increase daily in value. Antique clocks serve many purposes other than being useful in telling time, decorative in your home, a valuable asset in your estate and above all a faithful servant and friend which will be true to you to the end of time.

This clock will be packed very very carefully to insure a safe delivery

and the buyer is to pay $24.50 for shipping and ins. Very Heavy Clock! I will gladly answer any emails promptly. I have always hated that "reserve" when I have bid myself so this fine clock has no reserve and a very very low (gulp) starting bid. We love these clocks and I will be glad to help you set up your new clock, or answer questions long after the sale via email.
