SETH THOMAS SONORA 5 BELL RARE 89-0/90-B MANTLE CLOCK

For your consideration with no reserve and a super low opening bid is a rare variety original Seth Thomas 5 bell Sonora Chime Clock made around 1910-11. This clock runs and chimes well and in correct sequence. Comes with the double sided key and lead pendulum.

This clock is mahogany and is jumbo size. 13.75 high x 10" wide x 7" deep. The chapter ring and brass & glass excellent. The face is in excellent condition as many you find with this type of metal face usually are scuffed badly. This one has only a few minor marks. The case has nice even mottling and beautiful satin patina. Might have been a later refinish.

The movements are the earlier 89-0 time and 90-b dual train strike. Westminster on 4 bells and strike on the hour on the fifth bell. The right side has the up/down bracket for Westminster on/off. On the face has chime on/off. Keyhole for fast/slow.

3 train wind. Very secure. Case has only a couple minor nicks. No gouges, repairs of issues.

Not sure of last service date. Clock runs well but the movement should be serviced soon for optimum performance. Selling as is with no warranties implied.

This was the first Sonora to be made for the Seth Thomas Company after Sonora Chime and phonograph co. sold their patents for their chime mechanisms to Seth Thomas.
