Your feedback from the Designer Purse Album™ CD has been invaluable. You told me what you loved and I added even more for this CD!! There are photos of just about every step in the same order that I create a house from scratch. I break it down into chapters for each process such as templates to cutting to sewing to embellishing so that you are not overwhelmed.

I walk you through a complex house so you can have full instruction, then I also provide an Easy House Template for you to get started creating your own.

The core is the *most* important element in the construction of a Shaped Scrapbook Album. Over the months, I have practiced with many different techniques and materials. This core is the best and strongest I have ever used. It is flexible and lies flat when opened.

House Shaped Scrapbook Albums are larger than a Designer Purse Album™, so the core needs to be reinforced. This CD shows how to reinforce the pages and the binding so the whole album is super strong!!

Learn from my mistakes. lol!! Let me tell you, there have been plenty. :) However, some of my *best* designs came from 'fixing' a mistake.

I devote *four* chapters to techniques and incorporate more throughout the book!! There are *lots* of pictures for you to see exactly what I mean. I separated the technique information out so you would have it as an *easy reference tool* while you are embellishing.

I included a special chapter on Paper Piecing 101! There are very simple ways that you can create complex and fabulous looking structures.

For those that may not be familiar with my purses, i do use sewing in this project. It does not require specialized stitching. A regular sewing machine works perfectly. The majority of the stitching is decorative only. If you would like to create these projects but prefer not to sew, email me after your purchase and i will give you specific instructions.

Supply Lists!!

At the beginning of each chapter, I tell you what you need for that chapter. I found this less intimidating than giving you just one list that looks huge but isn't really when it is broken into sections.

I share the brand of glue I use. This stuff holds *everything*!! It's fantastic and I use it for almost all of the construction in the album. Let me tell you, I have tried *alot* of glues as I am certain you have too and this one *really* works!!

My History of making Shaped Scrapbook Albums

I first began making shaped scrapbook albums in 2006 when I created Designer Purse Albums™. A Designer Purse Album™ is a scrapbook album in the shape of a designer purse. I enjoyed the altered medium and the ability to combine thicker textiles than would fit on 12x12 scrapbook pages.

A vital part of making a Designer Purse Album™ was the construction, particularly the binding. The binding needed to be strong enough to hold the weight of a filled album and sit flat when opened. I experimented with many variations before settling on one that is super strong and has a reinforced spine.

As 2007 progressed, I was inspired to create a different shape of album. My very first shaped album was a birthday cake. Shortly after that, my love for architecture led me to contemplating a house shape. At the same time, K& Company had just released a gorgeous girly line of paper called Dollhouse. All of the pieces fit together. I had a binding that would hold the weight of a larger album and was thrilled to draft the design of my very first Dollhouse Shaped Album!

As with all media, there are laws that protect the content, ideas and photos. I include a chapter on Legal Use and Limitations in the book but most of that is plain logic and ethics we all use.

You CAN use the home plans provided and the same shape of one of the copyrighted designs under the following conditions. Think about it like an architect. When an architect drafts a house, they retain copyright over the design. Home builders purchase the rights to use the home plans; then make it their own with materials of their choosing. I retain copyright of the specific designs seen in this cd. You will make it your own by choosing your own paper and embellishments.

If you decide to use the designs featured on this cd for resale, you must do the following:

1)Obtain permission. Your ownership of this CD combined with your registration gives you permission. To register, you must simply advise me of your EBay selling ID and/or website when you purchase your CD. Once I have your registration on file, you will avoid getting your listings pulled via the EBay VERO protection program.

2)Use of these designs for resale must be limited to the amount the owner of this cd can personally handcraft. No production techniques of any kind can be used to recreate the designs shown in this cd.
