THIS INCREDIBLY ORNATE, VINTAGE,STERLING FRAME WAS PURCHASED FROM AN ESTATE QUITE A WHILE AGO. IT IS IN THE SAME CONDITION AS WHEN I BOUGHT IT AS IT WAS JUST STORED BY ME.

THE FRAME IS ALL ORIGINAL

IT HAS 11 THREE DIMENSIONAL,PYRAMIDAL, TRIANGULAR,NATURAL AMETHYSTS.

ONE AMETHYST IS MISSING THE POINT,BUT IT HAS A SMOOTH CUT AS THOUGH IT WERE INTENTIONALLY SLICED.

SOME OF THE AMETHYSTS HAVE INTERNAL OCCLUSIONS,WHICH IS TYPICAL OF THESE NATURAL STONES.

THERE ARE THIRTY THREE TINY TURQUOISE BEADS VARYING IN SHADE FROM DEEP GREEN TO LIGHT BLUE AND WHITE.

SIZE OF THE FRAME-

APPROXIMATELY 2.5 INCHES WIDE X 3 INCHES TALL.

THE OVAL OPENING ,WHICH IS FRAMED WITH DELICATELY,SCALLOPED SILVER, IS ABOUT 2 INCHES X 1-1/4 INCHES

THE FRAME IS SUPPORTED BY A SILVER STAND, WHICH PROJECTS OUT TO FORM A TRINGULAR STAND

HER NEPHEW,RICARDO SALAS, WAS MENTORED BY HER IN HIS TEENS. SALAS(MS-12) CONTINUED FABRICATING JEWELRY USING HIS AUNT'S DESIGNS AFTER HER DEATH IN 1960.

MATILDE POULAT WAS FRIENDS WITH DIEGO RIVERA AND FRIDA KAHLO,WHO OFTEN WORE JEWELRY DESIGNED BY MATL.
