Signed: This is a scarce signed limited edition, being one of only 100 copies and signed by Paul Nash, Albert Rutherston and Harley Granville-Barker.

Publisher & Printing Details: Ernest Benn, London, 1924. Printed at The Shakespeare Head Press, Stratford-upon-Avon. First edition thus, details read this edition is “strictly limited to one hundred signed copies for sale and six copies not for sale, respectively 1-100 and I to VI, of which this is number ____, is printed on Batchelor’s Kelmscott hand-made paper and hand-bound either in vellum or oasis morocco”. This edition is unnumbered but is one of the 100 signed edition and quarter-bound in morocco and fine cloth boards. (There were a further 600 copies, limited but not signed). This edition comes in the original tan card slipcase.

Large 4to, (32.5 x 25cm). Collation: ffep, half-title, title (signatures verso), pub;isher’s advertisement, Preface & intro (liii), 71pp, plates are rear unpaginated (5 colour and 9 black & white).

About the Book: A beautiful folio of Shakespeare’s comedy. Paul Nash contributes 9 black and white drawings (7 scenes from the play and 2 sketches of costumes), and five colour plates being costumes, and 4 scenes.

Condition: This copy is in very good condition but the following must be noted: the slipcase is rather battered and scuffed (this is more of a publisher’s case than a presentation slipcase). The cloth binding on the front board has a little light scratching and there is a little tape offsetting to the ffep and rfep. The text, plates and morocco spine are in very good order and the binding is strong. A beautiful book.
