Item specifics

Up for auction is my 2004 "Slaman 1923" built for me by Holland based luthier Daniel Slaman. it is based on the first version of the L5. you can also view this guitar on Daniel's website (www.slamanguitars.com) under News / 2004 (it's the 2nd guitar down, just below allen johnson's "1923 model".

here are the specifications: *handcarved and tuned European spruce top / *handcarved and tuned American birds' eye maple two-piece back / *matching hand-bent sides, 3 1/4 inch depth / *16 inch lower bout / *two-piece flamed maple neck / *ebony fingerboard with pointed end / *Brazilian rosewood bridge / *Waverly tuning machines with MOP buttons (installed upside-down as is consistent with the first couple years of the L5) / *nickel trapeze tailpiece / *imitation tortoise shell pickguard / *unbound f-holes / *mother-of-pearl dot inlay on neck (beginning on 5th fret) / *"The Slaman" slanted logo and MOP inlay in headstock / *Mammoth ivory nut / *Mammoth ivory heel cap / *vintage old style sunburst finish / *ivoroid bindings on headstock, neck, and body / *24 3/4 inch scale length.

this guitar is in excellent condition and has NO ISSUES. the sound is loud, balanced, and "punchy", as you would expect from the 16" hand-carved body. the neck is wonderfully comfortable and the action is set just right for rhythm chops or single note soloing. it's strung with medium-gauge phosphor-bronze strings and has that "vibe". Daniel has been building guitars for over 30 years and is internationally known for building world-class hand-made instruments with his attention focused on "Sound and Playability". if you've been on a quest for that 20's-30's style 16" archtop, this is an excellent opportunity to own this model, as today's price on a Slaman "1923" model is $11,000 with the current exchange rate, not to mention waiting for the guitar to be built. this guitar will be packaged properly and shipped in it's original Hiscox "Lite Flite" case. please feel free to email with any questions concerning this stunning guitar. payment by Paypal only. domestic shipping only. shipping and insurance costs are the responsibility of the buyer. thanks.
