What is the secret of SOLARIS?

Here's a super Russian Poster released in 1974 for this classic Russian Scifi Film released in 1972
The story follows the Solaris mission, that has established a base in orbit above a mysterious planet's ocean.
There are hints that the planet appears to host some kind of intelligence, but the details are hazy & top secret.
The film probes man's thoughts & conscience, as it follows a psychologist who has been dispatched to the space
station to help it's crew, who seem to be suffering some type of mental & physical anguish, while one has died
mysteriously. Upon arrival he finds the station run-down & the remaining scientists cold & secretive.
The crew describes strange occurrences taking place in the station. They tell him of he planet's Ocean's eerie
ability to materialize their thoughts. It is not long before the psychologist himself encounters his wife who has been
dead for seven years, he begins to appreciate the baffling nature of the alien intelligence & finds himself becoming
very attached to its alternate reality..
