The Son Set Beach 50 watt head is an outstanding amp. This Amplifier has versatile tone within the amp, as well as very noticeable tone variations depending on your speaker choice. Any turn of any knob on this amp will change its sound dramatically. This amp is very clean sounding, very big and very clean. The only thing i can compare it to, that would be relatively close, would be an old Ampeg V-4 that I used to have. If you are looking for a high gain, Marshall, or Mesa sound, you are looking in the wrong place. This Son Set Beach “50 watt Sonset” is big and clean.

I am using this as a bass amp, and love its power and tone. I have played it through several cabs and speaker variations. the Harke 4x10 it came through bright as F%$@,  bright as the sun, but not as hot, I turned the treble back turned the presence down and got things back under control.

When played through a 2x12 I was able to turn the treble back up a bit. i then plugged into a 1x15 cab. big and bold, thunder. No pedals, just plugged straight in. this amp is capable of most anything it seems. Plugging into different cabs there is so much control in the tone section, and versatility.

Now comes gig time. I used this head with the 1x15. Even with the main volume and the bright volume turned up, this amp does not get hot sounding. it just gets bigger. I put a bass overdrive in front of this amp and get the H&@# out of the way. The sound man never heard anything like it. The master volume around 9 o'clock, there was plenty of stage volume. No line out so we had to mic it. With the pedal in front of the amp, the amp performed without hiss or moan.

For a guitar amp this amp is just as clean and just as versatile. It welcomes pedals and makes your guitar sound wonderful. My friends and bandmates are amazed and impressed with this amp, as I am too. This is a pro amp all the way. I am very impressed.
