Beautiful antique hand painted miniature portrait of Pope Pius IX ( 1846 - 1878 ) in a dome glass frame 7 inches high by 5 inches wide dated 1800's.

Black wood frame with hanging hook with a nice large dome glass. Purple cloth interior with a black inner backing with a gold trim around the portrait of the pope. The miniature itself is all hand painted on a porcelain plaque only 2 inches high and richly detailed in fine colors. Antique miniature piece of high artistic quality over 100 years old in excellent condition.
