• Borosilicate "Boro" Lampwork Glass Beads: Lampwork beads are created by melting various colored glass in a torch and manipulating the molten glass around a metal rod then baking the bead in a kiln for a long-lasting, durable piece of art. Boro beads are made the same way as regular lampwork, but with a much harder glass (like Pyrex), making the item harder to work with at times, and using a much higher heat. Note: We only buy lampwork from people we know.

• Copper: Copper is rather supple in its pure state and has a pinkish luster which is (besides gold) unusual for metals, which are normally silvery white. Copper was known to some of the oldest civilizations on record, and has a history of use that is at least 10,000 years old. Copper occupies the same family of the periodic table as silver and gold and has a significant presence as a decorative metal art.
