"The Making of Star Wars as told by C-3PO and R2-D2", "SP FX: The Empire Strikes Back" and "Classic Creatures: Return of the Jedi" on Pioneer PILF-2079/80/81 Japanese LaserDiscs. NTSC, CLV, 48+49+49 minutes, in English with Japanese subtitles, digital audio. Behind the scenes, special effects, models, mattes, optical printing, see it all in these three fascinating programs, they are the longest available material on the subject. Includes glimpses of deleted scenes (Wampa attacks, Sandstorm sequence). The first two were originally released on disc in the early 80s, picture quality was not good, but what you get here are the superb 1995 limited edition reissues, only sold in Japan for a short while. Rarely seen together on eBay, get the three in one shot !

Another similar program exists, the Making of a Saga. Though some of the contents are common with the Making of Trilogy, there is material unique to one or the other, so you may well need both !
