The History Of Bahraini Dinar

The dinar (Arabic: دينار)is the currency of Bahrain. The ISO 4217 currency code is BHD. It is divided into 1000 fils (فلس). The name dinar derives from the Roman denarius. The dinar was introduced in 1965, replacing the Gulf rupee at a rate of 10 rupees = 1 dinar. The Bahraini dinar is written .د.ب (Arabic) or BD (Latin). It is usually represented with three decimal places denoting the fils.

Coins
In 1965, coins were introduced in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 fils. The 1, 5 and 10 fils were struck in bronze, with the others in cupro-nickel. The 1 fils coin was not produced after 1966 and no longer circulates. In 1992, brass replaced bronze in the 5 and 10 fils and a bimetallic 100 fils coin was introduced. A bimetallic 500 fils followed in 2000.

Overseas Bidders: Payment can only be made via PayPal and credit card via PayPal.

Postage: We try to make sure the postage & handling costs are fair, and cover the expenses necessary to get your product to you. Please only bid on an item if you are happy with the quoted postage & handling.

Feedback: We do hope you leave feedback for us, but for those who prefer to stay anonymous, we will only leave feedback for you once you have left it for us.

Delivery: All items shipped are shipped at the buyers own risk, without insurance, unless otherwise agreed upon by us, prior to bidding and prior to the closing of the auction.

Lost Items: As mentioned above, we obtain proof of postage on all items sent, and these can be provided if the postal service has lost the item. We will do all we can to work with you to track a lost item with the Post Office, and will stay in contact with you for the duration of the search until an outcome is reached.

Faulty Items: All products are individually inspected before being dispatched, to ensure the correct items are sent out in the described condition. In the unlikely event that your item received is not as described, please return it to us within 7 days of receipt in its original condition. Upon inspection, we will be happy to replace, where possible or refund you in full if the item is found to be indeed mis-described. No returns accepted after 30 days of the close of the auction. Shipping and Insurance are not refundable.
