What is the Sun Cobalt™ RaQ server appliance?
The Sun RaQ is a server appliance for Internet Service Providers (ISPs). It can host up to 200 individual websites or it can be dedicated to a single medium or large customer. This versatility opens up tremendous opportunity for service provider to invest in a single piece of hardware while migrating business customers up to dedicated servers.
At a single-rack unit high and with minimal power requirements (50 watts), Sun RaQ server appliances can be stacked 40 high in a standard 19-inch rack enclosure. In fact, they can be pre-installed. All hardware and software configuration is remote, so when a client requests new service, the new site can be configured on the fly through a standard browser. All you'll need is credit approval. That includes eCommerce sites. The Sun RaQ server appliance includes: root access, FTP, Web, email and virtual domain support.

The Sun RaQ 4 offers name-based virtual domains (single IP address for multiple domains) or IP-based virtual domains (one IP address for each domain).
Bandwidth Management
On a per-IP-address basis, traffic can be limited to a pre-selected throughput rate. .
SQL Database Support
