I went to my local music store to get some new strings and I checked out a fend-er that was used going for seven hundred dollars. it sounded good but no better than the Guitar I just got for one seventh of the price. this guitar is a winner all the way around. "I've been playing the guitar for 35 years. I own or have owned Fend-ers, gibson sonex and 335, Martin, Sigma, Kay, Alvarez, Trace-Elliot tramp, Fend-er twin, Bandmaster, and pro Jr, Electar 10, etc. I've built amps and fiddled with them--the same with guitars. I would buy another of these guitars (I might buy another soon). The natural transparent color I didn't order because it didn't look so great in the matched body-grain department (not even close in the photos). Guitars have become either commodity or collectable. This essex fits in the commodity category. Compare prices with any imports or domestics out there and essex beats them by forty dollars (more if you figure in the solid-wood body and thru-body bridge). "Several months ago I bought one of your SX guitars from an individual on ebay. It was used. I think it's an STL-62 (sunburst finish, antiqued maple neck, rosewood fretboard). Frankly I was looking for a piece of junk that I could feel comfortable about taking apart and re-working. I thought sure it would need new pickups, new tuners, so I could also refinish it and make some electrical mods. I had read that SX makes sturdy guitars, so I was expecting a good piece of wood with a neck on it. Well, Kurt, I found out as soon as I opened the box that if I wanted a piece of junk I should never buy an SX again. I simply cannot believe the quality guitar that you sell for $120+shipping. A music teacher in town assures me that it is far superior to the Squiers he has been selling to his beginning students, and your price beats the Squiers hands down. The tuners stay in tune. The pickups have plenty of output but are quiet, and their tone is great. The set up only needed some adjustment on the intonation. No buzzing from the frets anywhere on the neck, and the action comfortably low. From the communication I had with the previous owner, I gather this is the way he received it from you. Whenever my brother-in-law (a professional musician) comes by he wants to play my SX. He's as taken with it as I am, and he's had my '77 Str-at for several years. Granted, I didn't get this guitar from you but instead got it used. But after playing if for several months I wanted to pass along to you my thanks for importing these instruments. A Note about Shipping:   We charge the actual published rate for shipping and do not make any profit on it.  Please understand that most musical instruments are not regular box shapped and therefore have higher than typical shipping costs.  We use a combination of UPS and Fed Ex for shipping.    In addition if somehow your item is damaged in shipping, we can send UPS to pickup your item and exchange fee of charge.  Just follow the directions on your receipt.  Sorry no shipping to PO or APO boxes. 

We target shipping out items within 3 business days of  receiving your payment.    When you receive your order will depend on how fast you get payment to us, and where the package is going.  Generally it's 3 to 10 days later.  Shipping charges listed include all costs including insurance.   We reserve the right not to honor any bid we deem to be suspicious or fraudulent in nature.
