SAGE RPL SERIES:
The
Graphite III RPL (Reserve Power Lightweight) Series was designed for
more aggressive casters who prefer a fast action and crisp power in
their fly rods. The RPLs feature a more progressive Reserve Power
taper, which was developed by Sage to deliver the all around
performance fly fishers demand.
At
all ranges and in all conditions, the RPLs load quickly and almost
effortlessly, for precise, controlled casting even in windy conditions.
They generate high line speed for superior distance and accuracy, yet
still work in tight and present flies with incredible finesse and
delicacy.
Manufactured
from Graphite III, the RPLs combine superior materials, innovative
design and exacting handcraftsmanship to produce world-class,
lightweight fly rods. Whether executing a pinpoint cast or battling an
aggressive rainbow or brown, the RPL Series offers the angler superior
all-around performance in all conditions.
SAGE FLY RODS:
Sage
has been as committed to performance and innovation as any rod
manufacturer in the world. Their dedication to research and
development has produced some of the finest fly rods ever conceived.
Models like the SP and RPLXi helped put Sage in a class reserved for
only the best manufacturers. And many argue models like the XP and SLT
have sent more than a few companies scurrying to catch up. Sage,
under the guise of company founder Don Green, has been pushing the
envelope with state of the art materials from the moment the company
opened it's doors in 1980. Sage was the first company to incorporate
the use of IM6 (Graphite II) graphite in their rods. Through out the
years Sage's use of graphite evolved, from graphite II and then to
graphite III, and finally graphite IV. Today, all their high-end rods
contain Graphite IIIe, a blend of both graphite III and IV. To date,
graphite IIIe has the highest strength to weight ratio on the market.
From the outset, the company's goal has been to create rods that
generate high line speeds. As thousands of Sage owners will attest, the
design of their rods enables the fisherman to have extraordinary line
control. Casting a Sage means placing your fly where you want it, not
where you hope it goes. In
1994 Sage brought in Jerry Siem to take over rod development and
design. Siem, a Minnesota native, has been responsible for the
development of the SLT and XP. These rods quickly found themselves on
rivers, streams, and flats all over the world. They are characterized
as exceptional casting rods that allow both the novice and the expert
to enjoy them tremendously. With the advent of the TCR in 2003 and now
the Xi2 in 2004, Jerry has raised the bar for what is known as "fast
action rods". Sage has nine separate rod lines, encompassing the
spectrum of applications. Located
on Bainbridge Island, Washington, Sage was once a company composed of
less than ten people, and has now grown to over 130 employees. All of
the rods in the Sage line are manufactured under the same roof. On
average, it takes thirty-five days and over one hundred separate hand
steps to produce a single rod.

Leland has slightly different shipping policies for Fly Fishing Outfitters Retail Sales, on the one hand, and the Upgrade Program Consignment Auctions, on the other. Fly Fishing Outfitters Retail Leland Fly Fishing Outfitters offers a straight-forward shipping policy with no hidden costs. Though we will ship from our San Francisco location using a host of shipping methods, UPS Ground is our standard method, for which we charge a flat rate of five dollars (US$5) for addresses within the Lower Forty-Eight. If, however, time is tight and you need things in a hurry, we will charge you the real-time estimate for shipping that our site generates. No padding, no nothing, we just want to get you your goods in time for that fishing trip. Our site will also generate real time shipping estimates for Hawaii or Alaska, or international destinations, at a variety of rates. International customers, please note: under no circumstances will we declare an item as a "gift" or will we lower the declared value on the customs forms.
Domestic Shipping
We do our absolute best to make sure each item sold ships as soon as the payment clears; however, the majority of our listings end over the weekend, which means they cannot ship until Monday. Please plan your shipping choices accordingly. (i.e., Two-day shipping for an item that ends on a Saturday means it will arrive Wednesday, the second day after Monday.) Anyone can pick up his or her order in the shop. Just let us know before you checkout.
International Shipping
For international buyers, please be mindful of the tube length of the rod on which you are bidding. For example, shipping a two piece rod (56 inch tube length) to Australia is only available through UPS, not US Postal Service. Our shipping rates are priced to account for the item, packing material, the box and a little gift from us.
The buyer is responsible for all duties and customs fees. Under no circumstances will we declare an item as a "gift" or will we lower the declared value on the customs forms.
Payment should be received within 7 days of placing an order. Pay Pal and Credit Card Payment available at checkout.
Fly Fishing Outfitters Retail Sales
On retail sales, Leland offers 365-Day Returns. Up to one calendar year from the date of purchase, if the item is still in its original condition, we will issue a full refund, no questions asked, to your credit card. Or we'll issue a gift certificate, if you'd prefer that.
Though we carry the top brands in fly fishing, brands we've found to provide the most consistently performing equipment in the industry, from time to time an item will not live up to expectations. For this reason, above and beyond the warranties of our manufacturers, Leland stands fully behind everything we sell. If any product you purchase from us proves faulty, let us know as soon as possible.

Out with the old, in with the new!
This item (and many of our others on eBay) is being sold through Leland Fly Fishing Outfitters Upgrade Program. The program takes your unneeded or unwanted fly rods and reels, sells them for you and leaves you with store credit toward the purchase of NEW fly fishing gear from us.
What's all this mean? New equipment at no hassle. If you live outside of the San Francisco Bay Area, we can email you information and forms to detail your equipment, along with a return shipping label to get your gear to us. If you live close, just stop by the shop with your gear.
In the mean time, view our other auctions and see how it's done. We take professional photos of your old gear and write thoroughly researched and well-written stories that complement your gear. Check out the prices our customers are getting for their unneeded fishing equipment, too.
What's in it for us? We just hope to win your trust and become THE provider for your fly fishing needs. The sale amount of your equipment (minus eBay and Paypal fees) is turned into store credit with us. If you upgrade your gear with us, it will cost the same for you to list your old gear on eBay, but that's the beauty of it you don't have to lift finger. We take nothing off the top of your sale.
