This auction is for a brand new 7' 10", three-piece, 0 weight Sage TXL fly rod, custom built by Grand River Rods of Colorado. This rod is built and available for immediate shipment!
Components--This rod has been assembled using what I feel are the finest components on the market.
The reel seat is Struble's U25 nickel silver reel seat,--the perfect lightweight seat for this fantastic rod (a total blast for high-alpine angling!!)
The cork is Struble--simply the finest on the market. If you're not getting Struble cork, you might want to ask why--the handle on a typical fly rod takes a good deal of abuse, and any rod is only as durable as its weakest component. I've added an additional 3/8" length to the handle for those of you who'd like a little more than the standard 6" on the factory version.
The guideset is PacBay all the way, from the LtTiCH stripper (an 8, instead of the 6 Sage uses) to the superhard chrome snakes and tip top.
The wraps are done with Chestnut Gudebrod thread, with gold/burgandy/gold metallic accents.
a Sage rod sock, and a powder coated black/gold aluminum tube from Landmark complete this package.
Grand River Rods: We are a low-volume, client oriented custom builder with over 15 years of experience in crafting high end Sage, Winston, and Thomas & Thomas fly rods. Rods from our shop are fished worldwide and I have clients in virtually every state in the union.
What you can expect in a Grand River Rods custom is a rod that has been properly spined, with straight, carefully aligned guides, and a finish that I gaurantee to be as good as you'll find anywhere, either in a factory version or another custom rod. You can expect a tastefully finished rod (hand wrapped), with a fully finished butt section for a factory style finish.
Grand River Rods fully warranties its custom rods; if your rod breaks, simply send it to Sage for replacement, and Sage will send the rod to me for re-wrapping in the original color scheme. Sage currently charges a $50.00 fee for warranty service (standard on both Sage factory rods and blanks).
These are tough times, but that doesn't change the fact that top of the line gear makes your angling experiences the best they can be. The factory version of this rod sells for $560.00, but you can own this custom at a price much more favorable to your budget. If you're not satisfied with the way this rod looks and performs, I'm always happy to accept a return--again, we're client oriented here at Grand River Rods, and I'd rather you be satisfied than fish a rod with which you're unhappy. Tight Lines and Happy Bidding from Grand River Rods of Colorado!!
Feel free to ask about package prices with one of the Lamson reels available at my Ebay store. Lamson reels have secured a strong place in a highly competitive market for reels, primarily because of their fine engineering and great pricing.
